Hey.... Did you not receive a newsletter, or maybe you hit delete before you read it? Maybe you are a visitor or just plain nosey? Any way you are in luck, past issues are listed here and can be dowloaded at any time. Submissions to the Newsletter can be sent to our editor at..  newsletter (newsletter at lpcarc.org) Our newsletter history..... Our first editor or as far back as I can remember, was Bob Lyles, K9ET(SK). His newsletter was one page typed, Xerox (photo copied) at ten cents a page, then mailed to the membership.  It was mostly ARRL news and some club news. Still everyone looked forward to getting it. Around 2000 or before, Bob retired his typewritter, and Ken Osborne N9ZIP took over as editor for over 20 years, offering both mailed copies and e-mailed versions. The name Harbor Beam goes back to 1960's when a group of amateurs went to the light house pier and decided to load the catwalk for HF use. So the catwalk served as a HF Beam, in the harbor, hence Harbor Beam. The newsletter logo was a hand drawing of those amateurs at the pier. The logo of the lighthouse was taken by Steve Peterka, W9MHI. The LaPorte Club also had a newsletter (we have no copies). When it stopped, the Michigan City club picked up the slack and a county wide news letter was born call the County Harbor Beam with the court house as the logo. When the club President wanted to take over the news letter, in an effort to control information and news to the membership, only a few editions was made and it stopped all together. The club had no newsletter for some time until Curt AC9HO started it back up again. All of the archived copies that was stored on the club's web server was deleted by the President, at that time. So allot of history was lost, but thanks to Curt AC9HO, a email pack rat so to speak, a good number of past copies was found. We are still looking for more missing issues, and any from the old LaPorte club. So if you have any another copies, please send them to us.
